To build out Read Quest, I approached this capstone as a chance to explore how design can make reading feel more fun and inviting for kids. I spent time looking into how children interact with games and digital content, using those insights to shape an experience that feels playful rather than instructional. The goal, to design something that feels easy to use, visually engaging, and motivating—an app that encourages kids to read because they want to, not because they have to.
To bring the concept full circle, I created a short promotional video that introduces Read Quest’s world, mechanics, and visual style in action. The video was exhibited at the UNL Gallery in December 2025, allowing the project to live beyond the screen and be experienced as part of a curated space. Seeing Read Quest presented in a gallery setting reinforced the goal of the project — not just to design an app, but to spark curiosity, conversation, and excitement around reading in a new way.
